Calling All Artists for Art Under The Stars

Art Under the Stars is an annual Residence Life & Housing event that aims to showcase and celebrate artistic talent at UD. This year the event will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Saturday, October 26th on the the Hockey and Basketball courts behind Sypherd Hall. The outdoor arts festival will feature student performances, music, various craft stations, and a student art exhibition.

At this point the planning committee is collecting submissions for the Art Under The Stars Art Exhibition. We are accepting all forms of tangible art that can either be hung or displayed on a table at the event. Items will only be showcased for the duration of the event and can be collected by the student artist directly after the event or during the following week. Any current UD student can submit artwork.

All submissions are due to Nichole Payne by Thursday, October 24th at the absolute latest and will be kept in her office located in Brown Hall 110. Each submission should also be sent with a title and short description of the piece indicating how it was created and what it represents, which will be printed next to your piece during the event. Each student who submits a piece of art will be entered into a gift card raffle.

We ask that students submit only one piece or, if needed, not more than three small pieces of art. If an item is extremely large in size we ask that artists submit a digital picture of the artwork so that it can still be printed and displayed.

If you would like to submit a piece of art please email Nichole Payne at with the title, description of your piece, and your availability to drop it off to Brown Hall 110.
